Abstract: This joint report by NCTM and the Association of State Supervisors of Mathematics offers comparisons of mathematical content among state mathematics standards. The report intends to provide an initial examination of the impact of NCTM's Principles and Standards for School Mathematics on curriculum reform, to identify how state educational agencies approached the development of standards, to identify commonalities and differences, and to serve as a foundation for the refinement of future state mathematics initiatives. Standards are assessed in grade levels K12 and compared among 49 states and the District of Columbia. For each grade level, math content and process standards are listed with the frequency and the percentage of states that hold that standard. (Author/DKK)
