Abstract: This activity book, for gifted or regular students in grades 3-4, offers math enrichment activities to develop logic and reasoning skills while building self-confidence and understanding of mathematics. These weekly challenges, written in only a few words, aim to develop creative and flexible mathematics problem-solving skills. Twenty-five activity sheets for each grade include eight problems each and are presented on two-page blackline masters. The wide range of topics in this book includes number sense, estimation, and statistics. The difficulty level for each problem is noted and answers are included.
For example, one third-grade activity offers students challenges such as finding sets of parallel lines in a photo of a house, solving a problem involving the relationship of different relatives, and determining a certain number given three clues. Also, problems include finding the length of a ribbon around a box given its dimensions, asolving a computation cross-number puzzle, estimating fractions to the nearest whole number, and solving a logic problem involving fictitious insects.
