Abstract: This book, for grade 5 and up, is a biology or zoology curriculum supplement that features the internal and external organs of a variety of living organisms. The text is organized according to increasing organism complexity, from invertebrates to primates. Artwork and illustrative cartoons depict each creature's anatomy. Sidebars explain unique anatomical features of various animals work. For example, an Anatomy at Work sidebar highlights the unique shape and ability of a chameleon's eyes, which can swivel to look in different directions and at different things. In examining the chameleon, the book also labels and describes the chameleon's scales, tongue, and tail. An animal classification chart to develop student understanding of taxonomy is also provided.
