Abstract: This poster, designed for grades 5 to 12, provides information on 120 countries of the world. The poster shows population, forests, agriculture, services, industry, life expectancy, and annual change (using a scatter diagram and pie charts). Students use this data to determine which countries are richest and poorest; where people live longest and shortest; and how much of Brazil or the USA is still forested. Notes for Teachers is also included as a guide for using the poster as an instructional tool. Item E1 in the Notes explains Population, and indicates that the size of each circle shows population; China is the largest circle, India is the 2nd largest, and the USA is the 3rd largest. Item E2 explains how to determine each country's life expectancy and average production per person. (Author/FEB)
